Job description:

  • scientific service in research in the field of Local Climate Governance in the project „Next Generation Sustainable Business Models and Monitoring for Rural Resilience and Innovation“ (NEXRUR)
  • contribution to research on the emerging role of local governments or cities in climate policy

 

Requirements:

  • completed scientific university education in economics or a related discipline (desirably with above-average degree)
  • skills in game theoretical modelling, or micro-economic modelling, or simulation models
  • interest in economic research on environmental problems, natural resources and sustainability
  • proficiency in English
  • A plus would be:
    • knowledge of and interest in one or more of the following topics: local governance, climate change mitigation, climate change adaptation.
    • Familiarity with theories in the fields of political economy, public economics or institutional economics
    • interest to combine qualitative and quantitative methods desirable
    • track record as a strong team player
    • satisfactory German

The successful candidate will contribute to the NEXRUR research project on the sustainability of rural development (scheduled to be funded under the EU’s Horizon Europe program).
