Aufgabengebiet
  • Scientific services research
  • Transfer of plant biosynthetic genes into the yeast Pichia pastoris
  • Development of a dual optogenetic tool for pastoris
  • Development of synthetic promoters to control gene expression in pastoris
  • Participation in the development of high-throughput screening strategies to find the best performers of the yeast library
  • Tasks for the candidate’s own scientific qualification
Anforderungen
  • Completed scientific university degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, or related fields
  • Experience with the development of synthetic biology tools for fine-tuning gene expression in yeast (P. pastoris or S. cerevisiae)
  • Proficiency in molecular biology, yeast engineering and culture, and CRISPR genome editing
  • Exposure to next-generation sequencing, single-cell technology, and/or bioprocess engineering desirable
  • Wet-lab experience, in particular with cloning, genetic engineering, or molecular biology of yeasts (Saccharomyces cerevisiae, P. pastoris) as well as bacteria
  • Strong interest in yeast metabolic engineering
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken
