Job description:

  • scientific services in research in the project: "Molecular characterization of chloride and carbonate conducting Bestrophin and Bestrhrodopsin ion channels from microalgae"
  • bestrophins are pentemeric ion channels of the chloroplast membrane contributing to the C02 c6ncentration pathway (CCM) for photosynthesis
  • bestrhodopsins are marine variants with one or two N-terminal rhodopsin domains that allow light regulation of the channels, which open new perspectives for application in optogenetics; the ion channels will be characterized in collaboration with international partners
  • scientific qualification within a third party funded research project

 

Requirements:

  • completed scientific university degree in the life sciences with Dr. or PhD
  • experience in molecular biology and biochemistry
  • knowledge and practical experience in electrophysiology is welcome
  • mastery of standard computer programs for data analysis
  • ability and interest to work in international research teams
  • good language skills in English (min. B2)
