Job description:
- scientific services in the project “Heterostructures of Molecules and Two-Dimensional Materials”
- synthesis of various photoreactive molecules
- investigation of molecular photochemistry in solution and in the solid state
- functionalization of 2D materials
- understanding the structure-property relationships of photoswitch molecules adsorbed on 2D materials
- opportunity to obtain your own scientific qualification (doctorate)
Requirements:
- completed university degree with a specialization in organic chemistry, synthetic materials chemistry, or related fields, all with relevant experience in experimental work
- in-depth practical knowledge of organic synthesis and spectroscopic (possibly microscopic) characterization of molecular materials is essential
- good theoretical background in optical spectroscopy and data interpretation is required
- knowledge of the self-organization of organic molecules on 2D materials is preferred
- experience in the fields of photochemistry and in the use of standard chemical software and evaluation tools such as ChemDraw and Origin is an advantage
- very good written and spoken English skills required (at least B2)
- high level of motivation and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary scientific environment
