Task description:

  • Research and scientific services within the project “Slavic in a multilingual setting: Register and fused (hybrid) lects” (within DFG-CRC 1412 „Register“, Principal investigators: Prof. R. Meyer and Prof. L. Szucsich), Expected goal of further
  • Investigating the link between parameters of the situation and the use of standard, dialectal and multilingually mixed (“fused”) varieties in Slavic languages
  • Focus on Těšín/Cieszyn area in the Czech Republic („po naszymu“)
  • Comparison with other instances of language mixing in Slavic languages (mainly Russian/Ukrainian)
  • Empirical studies using corpus linguistic methods and innovative psycholinguistic methods (acceptability studies, Virtual Reality), independently and in cooperation with primary investigators



  • M.A. (or equivalent) in Slavic Linguistics, General Linguistics or a related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of Czech and/or Polish and good knowledge of the respective other language
  • Good working knowledge of English (German not necessary)
  • Interest in comparative work on Czech and Polish and open-mindedness towards further Slavic languages
  • Good knowledge in theoretical linguistics is desirable
  • Experience with corpus linguistic and/or experimental work are desirable
