Job description:

  • scientific services in research in the DFG-Project “Definition and Estimation of causal Effects in Latent-State-Trait-Modellen (CaST)”, in collaboration with the Department of Psychological Methodology at the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena (Prof. Dr. Tobias Koch) in the field of psychological research methods with a focus on causal inference in longitudinal designs
  • development and adaptation of new methods to improve the analysis and design of psychological studies
  • publication of results in peer-reviewed journals
  • close collaboration in the design, analysis, and publication of research studies with various collaboration partners
  • assignments for the own scientific qualification (PhD)

 

Requirements:

  • university degree in psychology, statistics, economics/econometrics, mathematics, computer sciences, machine learning or a closely related field with a strong focus on quantitative methods
  • excellent knowledge of quantitative methods, especially multivariate statistics
  • competent use of standard software, statistics software, and programming skills (e.g., R, Julia, Python, MPLUS, Stan)
  • interest in at least one of the following areas: structural equation models, analysis of longitudinal data, multilevel analysis, causal inference
  • interest in psychological research on cognitive and affective development
  • excellent command of English is required, command of German is of advantage
