Once recruited, the candidate will be part of the lntegrated Research Training Group (iRTG) of CRC/Transregio 154. The program offers a unique path of pursuing a career as experts in Modelling, Simulation and Optimization (MSO) with all its facets, including a tailor-made curriculum, networking opportunities as well as outreach activities.

 

Description:

  • Scientific services for the research project "Mixed integer-continuous dynamical systems with partial differential equations" with the principal investigator F.M. Hante in CRC/Transregio 154 „Mathematical Modelling, Simulation and Optimization on the example of gas networks"
  • The research scope is to develop decentralized control schemes for dynamical systems coupling partial differential equations (PDEs) and logic-based integer-valued components as instances of hybrid dynamical systems with applications to optimal control of pipeline systems for hydrogen and natural gas being interconnected by mixing
  • Tasks for own scientific qualification (doctoral degree)

 

Reguirements:

  • Completed university degree in Mathematics or related flelds (preferably with above­ average results)
  • fundamental knowledge in partial differential equations and nonlinear optimization; experience in optimal control or game theory are desirable
  • very good English skills
