The Chair of Finance together with the Chairs of Corporate Finance and the Chair of Financial Economics form the Finance Group at Humboldt University of Berlin. We are a team consisting of three professors, several PostDocs, and about 6-8 PhD students who aim to publish our research in internationally leading scientific journals. Current research areas are in the areas of: Financial Intermediation, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Debt Financing, and Behavioral Corporate Finance. We are open to other, new research projects in Financial Intermediation and Corporate Finance, especially those related to Climate Finance. For more information, please visit  


Job description:

  • scientific services in research and teaching at the Chair of Finance
  • aquiring scientific skills for your own research
  • completion of the course phase of the doctoral programme of the Berlin School of Economics in the finance track
  • tasks for your own scientific qualification (doctorate)



  • completed university studies in the field of economics, business, or related subjects
  • good knowledge of finance (corporate finance or financial intermediation) and econometrics
  • very good written and spoken English
  • the following skills would be advantageous: good German skills, programming skills, experience in working with databases and experience with empirical analyses
