The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Computer Science, invites applications for a

 Full Professorship for Computer Engineering (W3)

starting as soon as possible.


The professorship is expected to represent the core areas of computer engineering in a leading role in teaching and research, and to strengthen the expertise of the institute in essential aspects of the architecture, design, realization and operation of computer, communication and embedded systems at the hardware or system-related software level.

The responsibilities include committed teaching in the Department's degree programmes (including Bachelor's degree programmes "Computer Science" and "Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics", Master's degree programme "Computer Science"), especially in the area of digital systems and communication systems. We also expect appropriate participation in academic self-administration.

We are looking for a scientifically outstanding personality who has already made significant contributions to the progress of computer engineering. The person should have expertise in leading research groups, managing scientific projects and acquiring third­party funding, as well as experience in national and international cooperation. Furthermore, the person to be appointed is expected to show willingness to cooperate with internal and external partners, e.g. within the framework of Collaborative Research Centres, Research Training Groups and other research networks.
